Having just played yesterday, the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights will get right back to it and host the Rantoul Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Hopefully Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
On Thursday, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond really took it to Unity Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-21 victory at home. The victory was just what Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond needed coming off of a 77-44 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Claire Seal, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's points. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Rohacs, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Rantoul lost to Arthur-Okaw Christian on the road by a decisive 46-28 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, Rantoul can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while Arthur-Okaw Christian is ranked 242nd).
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Rantoul, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
