1A Special District 1 (8 Man) recap November 5, 2013
Jewell's Nicholas Chavera-Munk rumbled for the longest rushing play in 1A Special District 1 (8 Man) this season in his game against Alsea last week. Chavera-Munk ran for 96 yards on the play and finished with 182 on the day as his team beat the Wolverines.
St. Paul added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Perrydale, 62-38. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Jewell's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bluejays feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Deponte has thrown for 480 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Jaxson Smith has 23 catches for 358 yards. Deponte also leads the league in rushing with 1,207 yards.
Jewell took down Alsea 58-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Deponte threw for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 169 yards in the win.
