The Woodsboro Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 62-44 fall against Skidmore-Tynan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodsboro in their matchups with Skidmore-Tynan: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layton Jochetz, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jochetz pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jordan Zena was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Skidmore-Tynan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Gonzalez, who scored 19 points. The match was Gonzalez's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Rivers, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Woodsboro has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Skidmore-Tynan, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
