On Monday, Baker was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-34 to Noble Street College Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Baker in their matchups with Noble Street College Prep: they've now lost three in a row.
Baker's defeat came about despite a quality game from Serenity Curry, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Curry scored a full 55.9% of Baker's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Davis, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Muchin College Prep got the win against Rauner on Monday by a conclusive 37-13. That looming 37-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Muchin College Prep yet this season.
Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Muchin College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Baker might still be hurting after the 43-21 loss they got from Muchin College Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Baker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
