Wingfield is on a four-game streak of home losses, Murrah a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Wingfield Falcons will take on the Murrah Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wingfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Last Friday, Wingfield came up short against Oak Grove and fell 63-51. While losing is never fun, Wingfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Oak Grove is ranked 121st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tyler Arrington, who scored 20 points along with 5 steals. He scored a full 39.2% of Wingfield's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kentrell Jordan, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, even though Callaway scored an imposing 64 points on Friday, Murrah still came out on top. Murrah came out on top in a nail-biter against Callaway and snuck past 67-64. The win was just what Murrah needed coming off of a 69-46 loss in their prior match.
The losses dropped Wingfield to 0-8 and Oak Grove to 4-3.
Wingfield came up short against Murrah when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 73-67. Will Wingfield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
