It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Union Hill Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Bryson at home to the tune of 54-8. The victory was just business as usual for Union Hill, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Union Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but EJ Mowery led the charge by rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Mowery is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Espinoza, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Union Hill's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.55 points. As for Bryson, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Union Hill will face off against Abbott at TBD on Friday. Abbott is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Bryson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
