Thompson Valley has gone a perfect 7-0 against Roosevelt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Eagles will square off against the Roughriders at 11:00 a.m. Thompson Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Thompson Valley after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Loveland by a score of 4-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Red Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Evan Raabe put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Thompson Valley is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Raabe was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Sam Engelland was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Roosevelt made sure to put some runs up on the board against Berthoud on Tuesday. The Roughriders blew past the Spartans 16-4. The Roughriders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like Thompson Valley, Roosevelt also got a great game from a two-way player: Brady Mylander. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Mylander was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Wyatt McNerney looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Roosevelt let Kayden Bryant and Luke Unruh run wild. Bryant got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Unruh went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three runs gave Bryant a new career-high. Maddox Mesa also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Roosevelt and bumps their season record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Thompson Valley, their record now sits at 7-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Thompson Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roosevelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Thompson Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Roughriders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
