Elizabeth is 10-0 against Plainfield since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Elizabeth Minutemen will be home for the holidays to greet the Plainfield Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Elizabeth's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Plainfield has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Elizabeth earned a 52-39 victory over Union.
Elizabeth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Johnson, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Clark, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Plainfield pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-58 to Union Catholic. Plainfield has not had much luck with Union Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Elizabeth's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Elizabeth took their victory against Plainfield in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 60-36. Does Elizabeth have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plainfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
