Brandon Benkovics gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in March of 2024 on Tuesday. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wayne Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

Benkovics' strong effort led Wayne Christian over Coastal Christian and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coastal Christian is limping into the matchup having lost five straight at home dating back to last season.
