The Riverview Sarasota Rams put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lakewood Ranch 71-31 at home. The result was nothing new for Riverview Sarasota, who have now won six contests by 26 points or more so far this season.
Riverview Sarasota's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Sims led the charge by shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sims is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Susan Lowther, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Riverview Sarasota's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Lakewood Ranch, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will take on Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakewood Ranch's road trip will continue as they head out to face Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Palmetto is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
