The Duncan Wildkats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Tombstone 50-44. Duncan has not had much luck with Tombstone recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Duncan saw an underclassman step up: Isiah Sumner dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. Sumner continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Isaac Harris was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven steals.
Duncan has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Tombstone, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duncan will take on Valley Union at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Union has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Tombstone, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Willcox at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Willcox focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday.
