The Brighton Bengals are taking a road trip to challenge the Bountiful Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Brighton barely beat Woods Cross the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bengals were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. With that win, the Bengals brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Silas Smith tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Oliver Pohlman was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hayes Raulston, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Brighton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Bountiful came out on top against Viewmont on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Redhawks blew past the Vikings 10-2. That looming 10-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Redhawks yet this season.
Quintin Garff looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Bountiful's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Brighton, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Bountiful's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brighton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Bountiful, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Brighton's sizable advantage in that area, the Redhawks will need to find a way to close that gap.
Brighton couldn't quite finish off Bountiful when the teams last played back in March of 2022 and fell 9-7. Can the Bengals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
