The Valley View Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Sharyland Rattlers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley View is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Valley View was beaten by Vela 93-14. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley View in their matchups with Vela: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Sharyland came up short against McAllen Memorial on Friday and fell 52-43. Sharyland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mariajose Campos, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. She scored a full 30.2% of Sharyland's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Samantha Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Valley View's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Sharyland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Valley View came up short against Sharyland when the teams last played back in January, falling 39-30. Can Valley View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
