Sutton is 4-0 against St. Patrick's since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Sutton Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the St. Patrick's Irish at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Sutton sitting on three straight victories and St. Patrick's on eight.
Last Thursday, Sutton took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 60-20 win over Superior.
Sutton found their leader in underclassman Wyatt Pollet, who rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. Weston Ohrt was another major influence, as he rushed for 52 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick's humbled Perkins County with a 52-8 victory. The result was nothing new for St. Patrick's, who have now won seven matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.
Their wins bumped Sutton to 3-5 and St. Patrick's to 8-0.
Sutton took their win against St. Patrick's when the teams last played back in October of 2020 by a conclusive 30-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sutton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
