III Section VI recap November 5, 2013
Thunderbird extended the longest winning streak in III Section VI this week by beating Central, 69-10. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Thunderbird took down the Bobcats 69-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Glatting threw for 327 yards and 4 touchdowns during the win.
Antwain Marlowe was a force in the backfield as Washington defeated Phoenix Christian.
Emanuel Gant threw for 341 yards and 7 touchdowns. He went 14-18 with 0 interceptions.
Gant put up the best numbers in passing as Tempe defeated Alhambra. Gant's favorite target this week was Massiah Smith, who caught 8 passes for 165 yards.
The Buffaloes' Gant and Smith led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Gant has thrown for 2,943 yards this season, while Smith has 53 catches for 1,139 yards. The Cougars' Scottie Jordan leads the league in rushing yards with 1,927.
In 151 carries Lakel Davis has put up 994 yards this year.
Moon Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,420 from 10,881. The improvement was largely due to a 21-7 victory over Shadow Mountain last week.
