The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins stacked  a  tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Metro-East Lutheran, posting a  60-13 win at home. The  victory was just what Father McGivney Catholic needed coming off of a  52-32 loss in their prior  match.
 Father McGivney Catholic got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Katherine Empson out in front who  scored 11 points along with six  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Empson has scored all season.  Sami Oller was another key contributor,  scoring ten points along with three  steals.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Metro-East Lutheran  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only  an  offensive rebound. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Father McGivney Catholic's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-7. They've been dominating during the  games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.67 points. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they  still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Father McGivney Catholic will take on Litchfield at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Litchfield will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 612th, while Father McGivney Catholic is ranked 201st). As for Metro-East Lutheran, they will look to defend their home court  on Saturday against Murphysboro at 1:30  p.m. Murphysboro is coming into the  match on a four-game losing streak.
