The Soldotna Stars put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Lathrop 64-14 at home. Fans of Soldotna have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Lathrop's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jenner Webb, who rushed for 86 yards, and also threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Luke Skinner was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Soldotna's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 South Anchorage and 1-8 Chugiak (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.5% over those games). As for Lathrop, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.
Soldotna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lathrop is also done with their season.
