3A/2A Conference 3 recap October 1, 2013
Forestview's Moe Neal recorded the longest rushing play in 3A/2A Conference 3 this season in his game against Lake Norman Charter last week. Neal's team topped Lake Norman Charter as he sprinted for 98 yards on the play and finished with 107 in all.
South Point extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating East Gaston, 56-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Red Raiders.
Logan Bradley threw for 182 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Z'Andre Givens was the best wideout in the league this week as Ashbrook defeated Cuthbertson. Givens tallied 8 receptions for 137 yards. Isaiah Burris helped Ashbrook's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 59 yards.
Leading 3A/2A Conference 3 in both passing and receiving yards, Forestview's Bradley and Mykelti Armstrong have proven to be a lethal combination. Bradley has thrown for 1,118 yards this season, while Armstrong, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 32 catches for 475 yards. Tyler Bray from South Point leads the league in rushing with 769 yards.
The Green Wave are in fifth place, while North Gaston is in second place.
Bob McKay's team lost to Chris Medlin's team 63-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Michael Dorsainvil was a bright spot for Lake Norman Charter, as he threw for 174 yards in the defeat.
