The St. John Fighting Herald couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Crestwood 60-26 on Friday. St. John lost against Crestwood in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-51 score last time.
Crestwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dekota Johnson, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Schweickert, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
St. John's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Crestwood, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John will take on Bristol at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crestwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
