The Escondido Charter White Tigers lost against the La Jolla Country Day Torreys back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Escondido Charter was dealt a 84-39 defeat at the hands of the Torreys. While losing is never fun, Escondido Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Torreys are ranked 59th).
Escondido Charter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashton Pincock, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Joe Scates who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Escondido Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for La Jolla Country Day, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escondido Charter will challenge the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Jolla Country Day, they will head out on the road to take on the Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Francis Parker will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
