Hillsborough extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 8 this week by beating Jefferson, 36-28. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Terriers.
Armwood and Sickles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Armwood eventually emerging with a 20-16 victory.
Adner Grajales put up the best numbers through the air as Leto fell to King. He finished with 11 completions for 36 yards and eight touchdowns. Grajales' favorite target this week was Jonathan Dublin, who caught five passes for 19 yards.
Deiondre Porter provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Dragons lost to Hillsborough. He completed 19 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 44 yards. Porter's favorite target this week was Jonathan Moore, who caught seven passes for 127 yards.
Greg Thompson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In five carries, he ran for 104 yards as the Lions lost to Earl Garcia's team. Teammate Donnell Taylor added to the ground attack by rushing for 96 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Tristan Hyde of Strawberry Crest is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1341. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, the Gryphons' Ray Ray McCloud III has rushed for 622 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Alvin Bailey. The Armwood star has 27 catches for 491 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sickles takes on the Terriers. Brian Turner's team is currently in third, while Hillsborough is in first.
