The Robert C. Byrd Eagles will challenge the Elkins Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robert C. Byrd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Robert C. Byrd barely beat Ritchie County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

That's the most RBI Dobbins has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Owen O'Mara, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Elkins was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of Preston by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 25th.
Caleb McCauley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elkins saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dyer Barger, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Robert C. Byrd's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Elkins, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Robert C. Byrd continue to outrun the ball?
Robert C. Byrd took their victory against Elkins in their previous meeting on April 9th by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
