Seventy-First hasn't had much luck against Lumberton recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The Seventy-First Falcons will face off against the Lumberton Pirates at 5:00  p.m. Seventy-First has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Seventy-First is headed into Friday's   match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game  on Friday. They lost  17-2 to Jack Britt.
 Seventy-First saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Aaliyah Walker, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.  Sa'Niah Mays also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
Meanwhile,  everything went Lumberton's way against Whiteville on Wednesday as Lumberton made off with  an  8-1 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven  runs or more this season.
 Ava Hanna made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Furthermore,  she didn't allow a single  earned run, the first time  she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing  Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Jaelyn Hammond was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Three bases. while going 3-for-3.
 Lumberton  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are 3-1 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
 Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lumberton, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 4-5.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seventy-First has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 9  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lumberton struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 2.7  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
