The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 53-48 W over Paradise Valley. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Sunrise Mountain did.
Sunrise Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Hammond led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Andrew Balian was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 17 rebounds.
Paradise Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Antione (AJ) Anderson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Petar Milosovljvich, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Sunrise Mountain's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16. As for Paradise Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-16.
Sunrise Mountain will head out on the road to take on Kellis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kellis is coming into the game with five straight defeats at home, meaning Sunrise Mountain will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Paradise Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
