This season hasn't been kind to The West Hardin Oilers, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were dealt a 49-6 loss at the hands of Leon on Friday. That's two games in a row now that West Hardin has lost by exactly 43 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Thomas, who gained 204 total yards. Gannen Wise and his 89 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Leon's win.
West Hardin's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.0 points per game. As for Leon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
West Hardin will be playing at home against Groveton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leon, they will head out on the road to face off against Normangee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
