4A Region 8 recap October 8, 2013
St. Stanislaus extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 8 this week by beating Vancleave, 35-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Rock-a-Chaws.
Pass Christian lost to Bay 45-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Tyler Allen threw for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 17-32 with 3 interceptions.
Allen put up the best numbers through the air as St. Stanislaus defeated the Bulldogs. Allen's favorite target this week was Brennen Bradley, who caught 8 passes for 114 yards.
Gabe Fertitta's team's Allen and Bradley have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Allen has thrown for 2,190 yards this season, while Bradley has 48 catches for 918 yards. Jiquan James from Poplarville leads the league in rushing with 674 yards.
The Rock-a-Chaws' Bradley is only 82 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Tigers. So far this year, he has garnered 48 catches for 918 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Stanislaus takes on Bay. As it stands, the Rock-a-Chaws are in first, while Jeff Hopgood's team is in third.
The Tigers led 4A Region 8 in scoring this week by notching 45 points on the Pirates.
