Andrew is 0-10 against Lincoln-Way Central since May of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Thunderbolts will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Andrew sitting on four straight victories and Lincoln-Way Central on 11.
Andrew's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Downers Grove South.
Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way Central made easy work of Homewood-Flossmoor on Friday and carried off a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Lisabella Dimitrijevic and Jalese Hays were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Dimitrijevic struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Hays pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dimitrijevic has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Dimitrijevic went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Hays went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Hays a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Doerre, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Jaimee Bolduc was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Lincoln-Way Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homewood-Flossmoor only posted an OBP of .192.
Lincoln-Way Central pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Andrew, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.
Andrew couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln-Way Central in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 4-0. Will the Thunderbolts have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
