Mission Veterans Memorial has not had much luck with Nixon recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Jose Escobar was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten steals for Nixon. Those 32 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Garcia, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Mission Veterans Memorial has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Nixon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.
Mission Veterans Memorial will be playing at home against Rio Grande City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nixon, they will head out on the road to face off against Cigarroa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cigarroa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1159th, while Nixon is ranked 301st).
