Nestucca will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Warrenton at 7:00 PM. If the match is anything like the 35-41 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
After flying high against Portland Christian two weeks ago, Nestucca came back down to earth. Nestucca were completely outmatched, falling 14-50 to Knappa. Junior Mitchell Richwine and freshman Jaysson Swirtz-ferdig were two go-getters for Nestucca despite the defeat. The former rushed for 94 yards and 1 touchdown, while the latter rushed for 77 yards and 1 touchdown. Richwine has been a consistent playmaker for Nestucca as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.
Last Friday, Warrenton put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Gaston 62-6. That looming 56-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Warrenton yet.
Warrenton's victory lifted them to 4-3 while Nestucca's loss dropped them down to 4-3. We'll find out if Warrenton can add another positive mark to their record or if Nestucca can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Warrenton's step.
