Roosevelt took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Marlboro Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Presidents had just enough and edged out the Dukes 13-12 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Presidents sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Brennan Paul was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Tyler Nolen was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Marlboro Central, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.

Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 victory against Saugerties on the 13th. As for Marlboro Central, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Rondout Valley on the 13th.
