The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mooresville, who took down 101st ranked Mooresville, 33-31.
Jalen Latter and Nolan Corpening provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lake Norman. The connection was good for 90 yards, the longest such play in 4A I-Meck this season.
Vance's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Latter threw for 311 and three touchdowns and Corpening had 152 yards receiving. On the ground Latter chipped in 112 yards. Justin Fritts helped Vance's passing attack out by catching three balls for 78 yards.
Hough's Josh Stilley and Sanders Poff have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Stilley has thrown for 1362 yards this season, while Poff has 22 catches for 571 yards. Larenz Bryant from the Cougars leads the league in rushing with 1043 yards.
The Wildcats' Josh Ladowski is a mere 99 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Ladowski has rushed for 901 yards on 144 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hopewell takes on Mallard Creek. As it stands, the Titans are in fourth, while the Mavericks are in second.
The Huskies extended the longest winning streak in 4A I-Meck this week by beating the Lions, 41-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for Hough.
