Baseball Recap: Harrison's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

While Harrison's win against Evangel Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Santiago Martinez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Davion Eltagonde also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Harrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Harrison and Evangel Christian Academy will both be playing Eads the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
