After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Doral Academy, Coral Reef was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Hialeah Thoroughbreds get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Barracudas have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Avery Clegg made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Coral Reef let Katerina Chirinos and Chloe Junco run wild. Chirinos scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Junco scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
