Moon Valley is 3-0 against Goldwater since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Moon Valley Rockets will be home for the holidays to greet the Goldwater Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Moon Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three matches.
Last Tuesday, Moon Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Mingus, taking the game 66-54.
Moon Valley had a senior duo take command as Kevin Gray scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists and Hayden Turberville scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks. The contest was Gray's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michael McArdle, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Goldwater had to settle for a 48-45 defeat against Coronado on Monday. Goldwater has struggled against Coronado recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Eddie Barbour, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Marcus Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Moon Valley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Goldwater, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Moon Valley hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.3 points per game. It's a different story for Goldwater, though, as they've been averaging only 49.7 points per game. The only thing between Moon Valley and another offensive beatdown is Goldwater. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Moon Valley against Goldwater in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 79-16 victory. Does Moon Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goldwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
