Pope John XXIII moved up to 291 from 350 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division II District 4. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of topping Hyde Park Baptist 20-7.
Pope John XXIII added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Panthers, 20-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Lutheran South Academy's Trent Franson and Jordan Barton led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Franson has thrown for 2,509 yards this season, while Barton has 65 catches for 1,163 yards. The Lions' Greg Moore leads the league in rushing yards with 1,540.
Pope John XXIII made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,644 from 3,262. The improvement was largely due to a 20-7 victory over Hyde Park Baptist last week.
