The Springfield Millers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 88-55 defeat at the hands of North Eugene. Springfield has struggled against North Eugene recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Joey Banry was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with five rebounds for North Eugene. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Banry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of India Mohiuddin, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Springfield has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for North Eugene, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Springfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield is on a four-game streak of home losses, Ashland a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for North Eugene, they will head out on the road to challenge Crater at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. North Eugene knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Crater likes a good challenge.
