Basketball Recap: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Union County came into Friday's game looking for another win against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, but Jared Mitchell wouldn't allow it. The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors secured an 85-79 W over the Union County Panthers on Friday thanks in part to Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. What's more, he also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Union County, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-64 win against Sonoraville on the 21st. As for Union County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-58 victory against Coahulla Creek on the 22nd.
