Bishop Stang and Bishop Feehan are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Spartans will challenge the Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Stang is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Bishop Stang proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 14) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Arlington Catholic 4-3.

Ethan Cleveland looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bishop Stang got a big performance out of Bobby Rooney, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Drew Taylor also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Feehan). They put the hurt on Bishop Fenwick with a sharp 17-1 victory on Wednesday. The Shamrocks have beaten the Crusaders the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crusaders has come to flipping the script.
Ayden Mello and Jack Gasse dominated on the mound. Mello pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Gasse pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Connor Pullen was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Randen May, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and one triple.
Bishop Feehan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bishop Stang's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Feehan, their record is now 9-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Stang hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Bishop Feehan struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bishop Stang's way against Bishop Feehan in their previous meeting back in April, as Bishop Stang made off with a 13-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
