Southeast Kansas recap November 13, 2013
Field Kindley was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Chanute. The Golden Tornado came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 33 last week.
Independence made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,887 from 7,446. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-13 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
Field Kindley's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Golden Tornado feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nathan Finley has thrown for 1,922 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while James Newton has 40 catches for 736 yards.
Going into this week's game against Baldwin, Field Kindley's Finley needs 78 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
Murray Zogg's team led Southeast Kansas in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Blue Comets. Finley threw for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
