Aquinas Academy and St. Joseph are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Aquinas Academy Crusaders will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the St. Joseph Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Aquinas Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 90-82 hit to the loss column at the hands of Serra Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, St. Joseph were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 77-15 loss at the hands of Neighborhood Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Joseph has scored all season.
Aquinas Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for St. Joseph, they bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Aquinas Academy took their win against St. Joseph when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 68-47. Will Aquinas Academy repeat their success, or does St. Joseph have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
