Softball Recap: Hillsboro Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

Hillsboro won the last time they faced Life Waxahachie and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the Mustangs. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brynlie Vantreese was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lexi Green, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Hillsboro has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Life Waxahachie, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro will square off against Venus at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Life Waxahachie, they will head out to square off against Godley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
