Basketball Recap: Darius Radoc Factoran's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Islands over Aspire Langston Hughes Academy

After flying high against Millennium last Monday, River Islands came back down to earth. The River Islands Riptide took a 78-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans on Friday.

River Islands lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Darius Radoc Factoran, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those six rebounds gave Radoc Factoran a new career-high. Idrees ElFarra was another key player, going 7 for 14 en route to 19 points and seven boards.

River Islands has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9.

River Islands will square off against Trinity Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. As for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, they will take on Venture Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Aspire Langston Hughes Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
