Ironton has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will challenge the Dawson-Bryant Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Dawson-Bryant took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ironton, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Ironton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 victory over Chesapeake.
Ironton can attribute much of their success to Emerson White, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which White has scored at least 25% of Ironton's points. Lola Hankins was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Meanwhile, Dawson-Bryant was the victim of a rough 59-37 loss at the hands of South Point on Monday. Dawson-Bryant has not had much luck with South Point recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The losses dropped Ironton to 1-1 and Chesapeake to 0-2.
Ironton came out on top in a nail-biter against Dawson-Bryant in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 37-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ironton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
