The Anson Bearcats lost against the West Stanly Colts back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Anson took a serious blow against West Stanly, falling 61-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Anson in their matchups with West Stanly: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Anson saw an underclassman step up: Tatiyana Burns dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burns has scored all season.
Anson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for West Stanly, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.
Anson will head out on the road to take on Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Hills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for West Stanly, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Piedmont at 6:00 p.m.
