Basketball Recap: Greenville Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Greenville had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Ca'Tavia Bennett did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Greenville Patriots came out on top against the Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers by a score of 53-41 thanks in part to Bennett, who posted 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The matchup was her tenth in a row with at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Atlanta Classical Academy lost, don't look at Sally Berry. Despite the final result, she had 19 points. That was a full 46.3% of Atlanta Classical Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Perkins, who put up eight points.

Greenville's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Atlanta Classical Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will head out to face off against Bowdon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. Atlanta Classical Academy has already played their next contest (against Manchester), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
