The East Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ellet, falling 61-5. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East in their matchups with Ellet: they've now lost seven in a row.
Ellet's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaeda Tavares led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 3 steals. Tavares hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Holmes, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.
East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ellet, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East will take on Garfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Garfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Ellet, they will head out on the road to face off against Firestone at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
