Newton County Academy is a perfect 3-0 against River Oaks since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. On Tuesday, Newton County Academy got the win against Kemper Academy by a conclusive 14-8. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Bryce Jones was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Newton County Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Burt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI.
Newton County Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, River Oaks was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Tallulah Academy, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.
River Oaks saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Coleman, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Newton County Academy pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for River Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Newton County Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like River Oaks struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
