While losing is never fun, Chenango Forks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Wolverines are ranked 84th).
Chenango Forks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Walker Paske, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Stephen Samsel, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Chenango Forks struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Chenango Forks has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Waverly, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chenango Forks will face off against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Morris Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Waverly, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Lansing will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
