Nazareth Area has gone a perfect 4-0 against Bangor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Blue Eagles will host the Slaters at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Nazareth Area came out on top against Pleasant Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Blue Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bears. The Blue Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Landon Glovas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Chase Kilareski was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Chase Biedermann was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Nazareth Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Valley only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bangor). They never let Moravian Academy get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Wednesday. With that victory, the Slaters brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Owen Mera looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Bangor got a massive performance out of Jaxson Kreider, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Keith, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Nazareth Area and bumps their season record up to 8-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Bangor, their win bumped their record up to 3-6-1.
Bangor's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Nazareth Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bangor, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 strikeouts. Will Nazareth Area keep running through batters, or will the Slaters buck the trend?
Nazareth Area came out on top in a nail-biter against Bangor in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Blue Eagles repeat their success, or do the Slaters have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
