The Hillsborough Terriers will face off against the East Bay Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillsborough will be strutting in after a win while East Bay will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with six losses in a row dating back to last season, Hillsborough turned things around against Middleton on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 26-2 victory. The Terriers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Rocco Sabella made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Sabella was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Chase Dennis and Daniel Pena did most of the damage at the plate: Dennis went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double, while Pena scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave Dennis a new career-high in runs. Angel Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Hillsborough always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .775. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, East Bay was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lennard by a score of 3-2. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
J.J. Groover was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, East Bay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rory Beauford, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Hillsborough's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for East Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.
